| Creating a website for your appraisal business represents a significant commitment of time and resources. It is not uncommon for a web page to cost thousands of dollars in accumulated expenses and represent hundreds of hours of your valuable time in content writing and layout design. If the costs are high… so too are the rewards. Dominant web sites can feed you traffic and client leads 24 hours a day 365 days a year and they don’t ask for a raise. Websites can be the most efficient tools in your appraisal marketing and client servicing efforts and last a life time and beyond. But what if you have the greatest appraisal website in the world? And nobody came to it? The website would be worthless. In addition, there over 3 billion web pages on the internet (and growing) staying still is not an option, competition is growing and they want your traffic and customers. The cost per click for many appraisal keywords has become very high. It is not uncommon for some keywords to cost $2 to $5 per click or more. Getting just 100 “curiosity seekers click thru’s” a month (a low number) could cost $6,000 a year. Web designers also like their appraiser clients to come back for more services. Search engine optimization is something web masters whisper like secrets as their “unique specialty” something many could do on their own if just were given a basic understanding of the most useful strategies. It is widely understood by search engine optimization experts that 75% to 80% of search engine results are a function of “off the web site” activities. These activities are in essence link building strategies. Search engine believe that links are indicative of a web sites popularity and relative value in the collective (internet) ballot box. The search engines believe that a site that gets a lot of links (votes) is a site that others should see first under a keyword search. . But just links are not enough, for links to be truly valuable that should be RELEVANT to the subject matter for which the search is conducted. Having a link to your appraisal services from a dating site may in fact hurt your results given the constant refinements Google and other make to their search engine logarithms. Do your links come from sites that use the common words of your practice? Do they use the terms; fair market valuations, estate appraisals, comps, hundreds of times throughout the web site? If not, you have a weak link which will likely decline in search engine usefulness. Our focus is on providing appraisers and estate professionals anchor text links that meet all of the characteristics that search engines love. The cost of our links is modest in both expense and time commitment. Creating a link to your site takes less than 5 minutes and requires no web programming expertise. Early linking partners get the best rates and have the greatest potential for their link values to appreciate with the growth of our site over time. If I can be of service in this area, contact me at: Brian@EstateSettlement.com Our niche is estate appraisals. |
